Comparing Qualitative Raster Maps

چکیده
Abstract. Spatial diversity of the natural environment can be presented using raster qualitative data. They result collecting field data or stochastic modelling a certain complexity environment. One example such is determination similar elements relief forms on basis morphometric variables. The use unsupervised methods for clustering in produce different maps. It necessary to assess compatibility obtained maps order how significant differences between them are. article presents selected and deterministic assessing spatial distribution Exemplary measuring variability at global local level were discussed.

Recognizing text in raster maps
Text labels in maps provide valuable geographic information by associating place names with locations. This information from historical maps is especially important since historical maps are very often the only source of past information about the earth. Recognizing the text labels is challenging because heterogeneous raster maps have varying image quality and complex map contents. In addition,...
متن کاملComparing Raster and Object Generalization
Digital interpretation of imagery produces descriptions of the earth’s surface, each description relying on the inherent resolution of the original image. Forest cover geographic information (GIS) files have been produced by interpretation of aerial photography. Common mapping scales in Canada for representing land information are 1:20,000 and 1:250,000. This paper discusses two methods to auto...
متن کاملAutomatic Text Recognition from Raster Maps
Text labels in raster maps provide valuable geospatial information by associating geospatial locations with geographical names. Although present commercial optical character recognition (OCR) products can achieve a high recognition rate on documents, text recognition on raster maps is still challenging due to the varying text orientations and the overlapping between text labels. This paper pres...
متن کاملReal-time raster projection for web maps
The virtual globe is the default visualization for Digital Earth applications, but it can only show one half of the Earth. This article introduces user-adjustable, on-the-fly projection of georeferenced raster images for web mapping and web GIS applications. This technique allows users to center a map on arbitrary locations, while still seeing the entire Earth surface. Modern web mapping librar...
متن کاملExtracting Road Vector Data from Raster Maps
Raster maps are an important source of road information. Because of the overlapping map features (e.g., roads and text labels) and the varying image quality, extracting road vector data from raster maps usually requires significant user input to achieve accurate results. In this paper, we present an accurate road vectorization technique that minimizes user input by combining our previous work o...
